Meet Zainab

Hi, I’m Zainab. My interest in sunglasses grew from years of wearing glasses, discovering my own frame preferences, and paying closer attention to what makes eyewear feel right. Sunglass Advisor grew out of that curiosity and the things I’ve learned along the way.

My Journey: 13 Years of Wearing Glasses

I’ve been wearing prescription glasses for around 13 years. Choosing frames has been part of my life for long enough to understand that liking a design is only one part of the decision.

A frame can look lovely on someone else and feel completely different when I wear it. Over time, I’ve become more attentive to fit, proportions, and my own preferences instead of assuming that a popular style will automatically work for me.

That experience shapes the questions I bring to sunglasses: How might this frame fit? What makes its shape different? What should someone consider before choosing it?

Why I Gravitate Towards Cat-Eye and Oversized Frames

I have large, cat-shaped eyes, and I’m naturally drawn to cat-eye frames. I also love oversized sunglasses because of how they complement my eyes and personal style.

Exploring these preferences has taught me that choosing eyewear is personal. Frame shapes and sizes can change how a pair looks and feels, and discovering what you enjoy wearing takes some attention to your own features and taste.

Cat-eye and oversized frames are my favourites, but I know they won’t be everyone’s first choice. My own preferences remind me to leave room for the different styles, fit needs, and priorities other people have.

Why Sunglasses Became Personal to Me

I experience migraines that can be triggered by direct sunlight. This made me pay closer attention to sunglasses and become more curious about their lenses as well as their appearance.

I wanted to understand the differences between lens colours, polarization, and UV protection, including what each feature is designed to do. These became questions I wanted to explore when considering a pair.

This is part of my personal experience, rather than medical advice or a claim that a particular lens will help everyone with migraines. It explains why understanding eyewear became meaningful to me.

What I’ve Learned From My Own Sunglasses and People Around Me

Alongside the sunglasses I’ve used myself, I’ve learned from conversations with friends and family about the pairs they wear. I grew up around people who enjoyed sunglasses, including those who invested in premium brands, and their opinions made me curious about what makes a pair worth its price.

Some have also shared their experiences after trying sunglasses I recommended. Hearing how a pair worked for someone else has helped me appreciate how much preferences and expectations can differ.

I treat those conversations as individual experiences. They add perspective, while my own first-hand observations come from the sunglasses I’ve actually used. Together, they’ve encouraged me to ask more thoughtful questions about fit, comfort, style, and value.

How My Interest Led to Sunglass Advisor

Sunglass Advisor began as a way to turn this personal interest into something useful for other people facing similar choices.

Years of wearing glasses gave me a starting point. My frame preferences, experiences with sunlight, and conversations with people around me gave me more questions to explore. Writing about sunglasses became a way to connect those questions with clearer explanations.

I’m still learning, and that curiosity remains at the heart of my work. I want readers to feel that their individual preferences and everyday needs have a place in the conversation.
